Bonita process simulation and output

Hello, I am experiencing problems with simulations.

I have a simple process, and have put settings into each of the process steps (I am using a coffee shop as an example, so I can conceptualise whether the answers are correct or not). The order-serving process is about 8 steps and takes 6 minutes start to end, but I'm getting weird backlogs and all sorts of odd results. I've marked the coffee shop servers as 08:00-16:00 and the injection times 08:15-15:45 (or thereabouts), so wouldn't expect any real backlogs.

I have followed the documentation, useful to do things in the right order, but I still can't get it to give useful output.

Just wondering if anyone has a practical, worked example e.g. on YouTube (and .bos) file that can be used to demonstrate the simulation and results?

Thanks in advance, Dave. (BTW, I am a Business Analyst and not a programmer, so please keep the answers simple ;-) )

Hi Pierre, thanks for the suggestion. My experience is that they always send me here.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I can't see why the injector constantly injects orders even when I've set the coffee shop as being closed, i.e. I've programmed the injection hours. Do you have a working example that I can try?

Hello, Which can of odd result to you have ? Could you share your process ? Could you give more information ?

Hi Pierre-Yves,

Sorry, only just seen your request for more info.

Basically, the system seems to inject jobs into the simulation constantly, irrespective of the load profile that I set. I also get some odd results in the reports. Does the simulation and reporting work as intended?

I just wondered if anyone has done one that worked and would be prepared to share that and the results that they'd had. The .pdf documantation for earlier versions has been followed step by step.

Thanks, Dave.

Hi, I don't run personally a lot of simulations, only one "to see how its works".

Maybe someone did ? If you have a real concern, the best is to open a case to the Bonita Support (but you need to have a subscription) or to contact Bonita to have a consultant on your issue.

If you really can't find a reason for the issue, like sending requests when the shop is closed, then from my thinking and in this particular case

1) try to simplify the process so it is easily understood, 2) put it on a shre so someone else can verify it (should be no more than a couple of days to do that, and if verified, 3) submit a bug report on bonita.atlassian.net - you do not need to have a subscription to submit a bug.

Bonita will verify the report and then decide what to do with it. I've had some fixes, some workarounds, and some won't fix.

Best I can suggest in this case.

regards

Thanks Sean. I'll have a go at making something very simple.
