Cannot Skip a service task in Bonita Admin Portal
I have a service task in a process which has failed. I want to skip the failed task so that it moves to next task without any problem.
When i try to skip it, there is no change and it still stays in the failed task mode.
Same thing happens, when a gateway fails.
Is there anything which can be done?
I use the Teamwork Edition
You have to find out why it failed, was it in a connector? If so just edit the connector and when it asks what to do when it fails - select the Ignore error and Continue option.
As for a gateway failing...that's because there has to be something wrong with the test data - make sure it is correct and it should work. Gateways rarely if ever fail for any other reason...
Agreed with the gateways error. changed the test data and its working now.
But for the failed connector, i can only see the connector which has failed . I am not able to see the 'edit' option or see why its failed.
Is this related to the subscription edition i am using?
I think that the solution mention by Seán is to edit the connector configuration in the Studio to fix the cause of the connector error.
Also if you go in Portal administration view, select "Tasks" in the "BPM" menu and click on "Failed" filter you will be able to see all tasks that failed due to a connector execution error. For a given task, if you click on "More..." button you will get a "Skip" button to ignore the task and let the process execution continue. Note that in Performance edition you are able to replay a task that failed and choose which connector to execute or skip.
Also as you are in Subscription edition it might be possible to fix the connector error by updating parameter values (e.g. if an email connector failed due to incorrect password and if you store the password as a process parameter).
Thanks Antoine for your answer.
Yes i did follow the same steps to skip a particular failed task.
But i think i i cant replay a failed task once i make the changes. Replaying a failed task isn't possible in teamwork edition?
Yes, exactly, replay task is only available in Performance edition, not Teamwork.
Thanks for the confirmation.
