Unleash Blockchain potential with BPM!
I recently attended a Meetup in NYC organized by Chain.com. They presented their product Chain Core, which is an implementation of a blockchain network. They have an open source version here .
I knew about blockchain before this Meetup but didn't really take the time to think about applicable use cases. I did some research about it and what I found amazed me. While Bitcoin, a crypto-currency that allows people to exchange money anonymously, is the most famous one, startups are already experimenting with many others: supply chain management, digital voting, cloud storage, IOT network, and more. Imagination is pretty much the limit right now.
Most of them are still at the experimental stage since, while the technology has a bright future, it's still young and needs to overcome a lot of challenges before it can be widely adopted.
But whether or not Blockchain technology will disrupt the market by enabling a paradigm shift in how companies do business, the need to streamline, control, and optimize the business processes that use it will still be here, and BPM will have a big role to play.
To go further with this idea, I built a prototype using Bonita BPM and Chain Core around supply chain management. If you're interested to see the result, checkout the recording of the webinar.

I think using blockchain network for cloud storage would increase the risk of someone hacking one of the servers/computers and leaking any confidential information. Not sure if I'm missing something, but there are situations where centralized information is better. What do you think?

Where's the webinar gone? It's disappeared!
Hopefully there was a recording of it so we can reference it...

I update the blog post with the link to the recording of the webinar.
Hey Lionel,
How can I access the Webinar? Is it available now?
Please, share with us! There are other visitors here wanting to watch it...
Thanks,

Blockchain is a distributed database that maintains a continuously growing list of data records. Blockchain technology, which was developed for the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, allows each participant to have an up-to-date copy of the transaction ledger and makes it difficult to tamper with any individual record without changing all subsequent blocks in the chain. In this blog post, we will discuss how blockchain has endless potential when used as a business process management system and here you can get live information about cryptocurrency Bitcoin.
