I am doing a search about features of open source Bonita(community edition). I need to confirm if these points which I found in article(2017) still correct in the last version :
*Bonita does not Support for adding SLA and linking SLA KPIs
** Bonita does not support changing business rules for process instances
** Bonita does not support integration with outlook
*** Bonita does not support BP execution languages
**** Bonita does not support Generate process documentation and the the tool does not have the ability to define their own reports using the wizard

thx for help.

Hi Rowa,

Indeed the report looks outdated. Please find some answers below:

*Bonita does not Support for adding SLA and linking SLA KPIs

https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/7.12/set-up-kpis

** Bonita does not support changing business rules for process instances

https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/7.12/expressions-and-scripts

https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/7.12/transitions

** Bonita does not support integration with outlook

https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/7.12/configure-email-connector. You can also leverage Bonita REST connector to integrate with outlook using REST APIs

*** Bonita does not support BP execution languages

Bonita support BPMN2 standard notation and uses a model driven approach.

**** Bonita does not support Generate process documentation and the the tool does not have the ability to define their own reports using the wizard

https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/7.12/project-documentation-g...

Hope that helps

Miguel

I need to know about support or not for SLA

does expressions and transitions includes business rules? then I want to know if I can change them(business rules) in real time for process instances

bonita uses BPMN2.0 for modelling but what aboat that:Bonita does not support BP execution languages like yawl or processmaker?

Hi Rowa,

Please find hereafter my comments:

1.- I need to know about support or not for SLA

Could you please describe the use case? If you are referring to possibility to add timers, this is a native capability of the platform: https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/7.12/timers-execution

2.- does expressions and transitions includes business rules? then I want to know if I can change them(business rules) in real time for process instances.

Yes, a business rule in Bonita is a Script that can be changed in real time. We call that Live Updates: https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/7.12/live-update#toc9.

Business rules in Bonita can be graphically designed using the Expression Editor. Please have a look to this video (min 1:43) to have an overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=038g85tvzo4

3.- bonita uses BPMN2.0 for modelling but what aboat that:Bonita does not support BP execution languages like yawl or processmaker?

Bonita uses BPMN2.0 also to turn the process modeling into a executable process. You will find more information in this document: https://www.bonitasoft.com/system/files/documentation_library/ultimate_guide_to_bpmn2_280116.pdf

Hope that helps

HI Miguel,

for the second point ,in documentation they said that live update supported for Enterprise Performance and Efficiency editions only,so can not use this feature to change business rules in real time in community edition?

for the first point: support SLA or not used in this article https://www.scirp.org/journal/paperinformation.aspx?paperid=88720 I think they are talking about Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

thanks

Hello,

You can generate the process documentation with the embedded documentation generator. here: https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/7.12/project-documentation-g...
