Dear Community,

I would like to introduce Ludovic BERTIN. He is the author of the first Pull Request on Bonitasoft's GitHub, and his contribution has been integrated in Bonita BPM 6.2.

While Ludovic was working for one of Bonitasoft's partners, he chose to share a part of his work with the Community. I talked to him about this recently, and below is our short interview.

Q. Why did you submit this Pull Request?

Ludovic: While working on a project for a customer, we needed to use authentication on the HTTP transactions between the Bonita Engine and the client. Bonita BPM didn't have this feature and I felt it was a good idea to share this development with the Community, instead of keeping it as a unique modification.

Q. What does Bonita BPM provide for the project you are working on? Why did you choose it?

L: Bonita BPM is a central component in the technical stack of the current information system. Its ease of integration, and Bonitasoft team involvement in the development, were key factors in the success of this project.

Q. Is it the first project you are working on with Bonita BPM? If not, what kind of projects have you already done?

L: No, it is not the first project. As a Maestro partner, we (AiM Services) often implement new BPM solutions using Bonita.

For example, I am working on two other projects, one in the retail market, and the other in interbank brokerage. For the first one, the goal is to manage new customers subscriptions. For the other the goal is to manage the negotiation between buyer and seller. In both cases, the adoption of Bonita BPM is the last step of a grand plan, at the company's strategic level.

Q. Do you participate in the Bonita BPM Community? If so, why?

L: Open Source communities live and survive only through contributors, whether through the code or in the forums. So, it is important to be able to exchange on the Bonita forums with other users, about the issues we encounter.

More generally, I'm one of those people who like to look "under the hood" :)

I participate in other Open Source projects like Silverpeas (http://www.silverpeas.org)

Thank you!
