email notification at each level of event

i watched example of invoice by sapna .thats great but how do i can send email to each approver when user uploads invoice . i mean it should happens at every level .ex:- requester uploads invoice -->1st approver gets email notification , if he approves second approver should get email notification for approval.after that approve or rejection email should be received by requester. please guide me how can we achieve this.
