If i have group of people to approve the request i am getting error "The user task is not assigned"

Hi,
If i have group of people to approve the request i am getting error "The user task is not assigned".
I have created external page to approve the request its throwing the error.. From portal if i TAKE the request then its allowing me to approve from the external page..any suggestion that TAKE can be avoided to approve from external page??
