[RESOLVED] Running headless Bonita Community engine on Linux

Hi there,

I'm new to BonitaBPM and would like to bench the Community Edition and check for its usability, performance, etc.

I'm quite lost in the installation process as I would like to have the sole engine deployed on tomcat (on Linux CentOS) without any local eclipse installation as I would like to have Ecplise on a separate machine.

Deploying the webapp by itself leads to an automatic shutdown.

How can I get around this problem ? Can anyone provide me with some information and/or tutorial resources, please ?

Any answer welcome in English or French language as I'm a french native.

Many thanks in advance.
Best regards.

Roland

This one is the BEST answer!

From what you are saying it looks like you are trying to bench test the Community "development" (Studio) version of Bonitasoft, which includes eclipse.

What you really need is the Community "production" version of the software which does not include eclipse.

This can be downloaded from

http://www.bonitasoft.com/ -> Downloads->Click Customize your download ->Click on tab Production

and download the one that is most appropriate for your requirements. Note you cannot install the engine without the web portal.

Hope this helps,
regards
Seán

Additionally to Seán answer I would recommend to checkout the documentation about Tomcat bundle or about the Deploy bundle (this bundle allow you to deploy Bonita BPM in your own Tomcat setup).

Hi Sean & Antoine,

Many thanks for your help!
I indeed missed the 'production' tab in the download process which led me to get the whole Bonita Studio instead.

The zip I downloaded is what I was looking for. I can now catch up with the regular Tomcat installation.

Problem solved!!
By the way, I wish you a happy new year!
Cheers,

Roland
