Migrate data to reporting database

Kindly I would like to know about best practices in migrating data from Bonita database to my reporting database. Bonita documentation talks about using pool\task KPIs to achieve this but IMHO this is not practical at all as when it fails you have only two options: fail the process too or ignore. What I want is to continue the process and re-try data insert to reporting database which is not possible using these KPIs. My Bonita database and the reporting databases are PostgreSQL. My first thought is to create scheduled jobs with script to migrate data on database level with mechanism to re-consider records that fail. Appreciate any insight on best practices on migrating Bonita data to reporting database
