User interface icon size

I'm just starting out and this is a really simple question. Is there a way to customise the size of the UI environment to make the icons and symbols larger? I've looked through preferences and can't see anything. The icons for the BPMN symbols are tiny and hard to read.

How can the size of the fonts and icons be customised to make them larger? I did search the help file but couldn't find anything.
