How do I report an issue?

You've experienced an issue with one of the components of Bonita? Or is there is an issue on the Community website?

Before reporting an issue, check:

  • You can describe how to reproduce it
  • You have all the information about your operating system, web browser and environment
  • The Java version you are using (Bonita only)
  • Your issue is not a duplicate

Then, you can create an issue on our Community JIRA bug tracker:
https://bonita.atlassian.net/projects/BBPMC

How do I raise a security related question?

If you think you have discovered a Vulnerability, you should report your Finding directly to bonitasecurity@bonitasoft.com, so that the Bonita Security Team can manage it in a dedicated Jira project. You must not disclose it directly on the public forums or any other website. In case of doubt, contact the Bonita Security Team, who will assess the severity and whether there actually is a vulnerability.

Please refer to our Vulnerability Reporting Policy

Of course, for all other questions (including the one related to security configuration of the product) the process remains the same and you can ask a question in our Q&A section.

How do I submit an idea for improvement?

You have an awesome idea to improve Bonita? Or the Community website?

Log in to the Bonita Community Ideas Jira project: https://bonita.atlassian.net/projects/BCI

Create a new ticket and choose Improvement type if you submit an idea to improve an existing feature. Or New feature type if you'd like to suggest a new feature.

Select the component Bonita if you reporting an idea to improve the Bonita platform. If the idea is for the Community website, select Community website

Please make sure, you're not reporting an idea that are already being suggested.

Where is the source code ?

The source code of Bonita is available on our GitHub repository: https://github.com/bonitasoft The source code of Bonita Open Solution 5.x is available on our legacy SVN: https://github.com/bonitasoft-community

How do I translate Bonita?

The best way to translate Bonita into your language is to join our project on CrowdIn:

http://translate.bonitasoft.org/

This is a really easy to use, to translate the end-user web interface (Bonita Portal and web forms):

How can I ask a question ?

Maybe you are not the first one with this question...so, please:

  • Step 1: search to if your question has been asked already
  • Step 1 and a half: if you found the question, but there is no answer, add a comment; this will notify other participants, and push the question to the top of the question list
  • Step 2: if this a new question, click on "Create a question"

Then don't forget to give details:

As you can see, your question is written in *Full html* by default. If you want to use *Markdown*, just click on the Markdown Button in the toolbar.

  • your version of Bonita
  • your version and vendor of Java and database
  • your operating system
  • and anything else you think is useful to understand your question!!!

What is the difference between "comments" and "answers"?

If what you are writing **is not answering** the question, you are writing a **comment**, not an **answer** ;-) Use "answer" to reply to a question; use "comment" for anything else.

How do I attach a file, a picture or a video ?

To attach a file, upload it first to a hosting service like http://dropbox.com or https://drive.google.com/, set the sharing appropriately, and paste the link to the file in your question/comment/answer To add a picture, upload it first to a hosting service like [Imgur](http://imgur.com) or [Postimage](http://postimage.org/).

Then, you can use the picture icon in the editor toolbar: * give a name * add the link * click on validate, and it will add the markdown code to your content To embed a video, upload it first to a hosting service like [Youtube](http://youtube.com) or [Dailymotion](http://dailymotion.com). Then you can embed it using the short code. *Disclaimer: Dropbox, Google Drive, Imgur, Postimage, Youtube, and Dailymotion are suggestions given as examples. Bonitasoft is not affiliated with them.* If you don't want to use the toolbar assistants, here are some examples of how to write links, pictures and embed directly in the Markdown editor. Please refer to the very good article about [Markdown on Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markdown#Example) for more information.

How do I attach a picture to my profile?

Click on your account at the right side of the menu bar and click on "add picture". In your account details, you will be able to upload your virtual face or picture. Pictures larger than 1024x1024 pixels will be scaled down.

Where is the "Contribution" section of Bonitasoft.org?

The Contributions have been imported into the Community website and are available in the **[Projects](/project)** section.

Why is my question / answer / comment not visible after I publish it ?

The administrators of the Community website use moderation tools: * Spam filters * Robot detectors * Comment and answer converters Much valuable content posted includes links, code, or logs. These sometimes trigger the filters and put the question, answer, or comment into moderation. The author and followers of content in moderation will get a notification as soon as it is released.

General Guidelines

This is a Civilized Place for Public Discussion

Please treat this discussion forum with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules. They are guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a kind, friendly place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always adding something positive to the discussion, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

One way to improve the discussion is by discovering ones that are already happening. Spend time browsing the topics here before replying or starting your own, and you’ll have a better chance of meeting others who share your interests.

The topics discussed here matter to us, and we want you to act as if they matter to you, too. Be respectful of the topics and the people discussing them, even if you disagree with some of what is being said.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond by disagreeing. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide thoughtful insights that improve the conversation.

Your Participation Counts

The conversations we have here set the tone for every new arrival. Help us influence the future of this community by choosing to engage in discussions that make this forum an interesting place to be — and avoiding those that do not.

Discourse provides tools that enable the community to collectively identify the best (and worst) contributions: bookmarks, likes, flags, replies, edits, watching, muting and so forth. Use these tools to improve your own experience, and everyone else’s, too.

Let’s leave our community better than we found it.

If You See a Problem, Flag It

Moderators have special authority; they are responsible for this forum. But so are you. With your help, moderators can be community facilitators, not just janitors or police.

When you see bad behavior, don’t reply. Replying encourages bad behavior by acknowledging it, consumes your energy, and wastes everyone’s time. Just flag it. If enough flags accrue, action will be taken, either automatically or by moderator intervention.

In order to maintain our community, moderators reserve the right to remove any content and any user account for any reason at any time. Moderators do not preview new posts; the moderators and site operators take no responsibility for any content posted by the community.

Always Be Civil

Nothing sabotages a healthy conversation like rudeness:

  • Be civil. Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, abusive, or hate speech.
  • Keep it clean. Don’t post anything obscene or sexually explicit.
  • Respect each other. Don’t harass or grief anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information.
  • Respect our forum. Don’t post spam or otherwise vandalize the forum.

These are not concrete terms with precise definitions — avoid even the appearance of any of these things. If you’re unsure, ask yourself how you would feel if your post was featured on the front page of a major news site.

This is a public forum, and search engines index these discussions. Keep the language, links, and images safe for family and friends.

Keep It Tidy

Make the effort to put things in the right place, so that we can spend more time discussing and less cleaning up. So:

  • Don’t start a topic in the wrong category; please read the category definitions.
  • Don’t cross-post the same thing in multiple topics.
  • Don’t post no-content replies.
  • Don’t divert a topic by changing it midstream.
  • Don’t sign your posts — every post has your profile information attached to it.

Rather than posting “+1” or “Agreed”, use the Like button. Rather than taking an existing topic in a radically different direction, use Reply as a Linked Topic.

Post Only Your Own Stuff

You may not post anything digital that belongs to someone else without permission. You may not post descriptions of, links to, or methods for stealing someone’s intellectual property (software, video, audio, images), or for breaking any other law.

Powered by You

This site is operated by your friendly local staff and you, the community. If you have any further questions about how things should work here, open a new topic in the site feedback category and let’s discuss! If there’s a critical or urgent issue that can’t be handled by a meta topic or flag, contact us via the staff page.

Terms of Service

Yes, legalese is boring, but we must protect ourselves – and by extension, you and your data – against unfriendly folks. We have a Terms of Service describing your (and our) behavior and rights related to content, privacy, and laws. To use this service, you must agree to abide by our TOS.
