Bonita 2025.2 Release: local AI, native OAuth2, and seamless UI Design!

Hello Bonita Community!

We are thrilled to announce that the Bonita 2025.2 release is here! :rocket:

This release is all about giving you more control and better security while removing friction from your development experience. Whether you need to run AI models on your own infrastructure to keep data private, connect securely to modern APIs without writing code, or design interfaces faster, 2025.2 has something for you.

Here is a deep dive into what’s new.

:brain: Local AI Integration with Ollama

AI on your terms: private, offline, and cost-effective.

In our previous release, we introduced cloud-based AI connectors. Now, we are taking it a step further for organizations with strict data sovereignty and security requirements.

With the new Ollama AI Connector, you can now run AI models (like Llama, Mistral, and CodeLlama) locally on your own infrastructure.

  • Why it matters:

    • Data Sovereignty: Your sensitive business data never leaves your control. It’s perfect for regulated industries like finance, healthcare, and government.

    • Zero API Costs: Say goodbye to unpredictable usage fees. You can experiment and scale without worrying about the bill.

    • Offline Capable: Need to run processes in an air-gapped environment? This connector works fully without internet connectivity.

You get the same capabilities: Generative AI (“Ask”), Data Extraction, and Classification, configured through the same easy-to-use interface as our cloud connectors.

Enterprise-Grade Security: Native OAuth2 for REST

Connect to any modern API without the headache.

Connecting to OAuth2-protected services (like Salesforce, Microsoft 365, or Slack) used to require custom Groovy scripts or complex workarounds. Not anymore.

The REST Connector now has native OAuth2 support, handling all the complexity of token management, refreshing, and security protocols for you.

  • What’s inside:

    • Standard Flows: Support for Client Credentials, Authorization Code (with PKCE for extra security), and Bearer Token flows.

    • Token Retrieval Connector: A brand new dedicated connector that lets you fetch a token once and reuse it across multiple API calls, optimizing performance and simplifying your processes.

    • Zero Custom Code: Configure everything via the wizard. No more maintaining complex authentication scripts.

:e_mail: Secure Email Automation

Modern authentication for Gmail and Office 365.

As basic authentication (username/password) is being deprecated by major providers like Google and Microsoft, automating email has become a challenge. The 2025.2 release solves this with Native OAuth2 Support for Email.

You can now use the industry-standard XOAUTH2 mechanism to connect securely to Gmail, Exchange Online, and Office 365. This ensures your email automation is compliant with modern security policies (like MFA) and protects you from service disruptions caused by authentication changes.

:artist_palette: Seamless UI Builder Integration

Design interfaces directly from Studio.

We’ve heard your feedback about the workflow between Bonita Studio and the UI Builder. In 2025.2, we have completely streamlined the experience.

You can now launch the UI Builder directly from Bonita Studio with a single click.

  • The improvements:

    • Zero Configuration: No manual setup required. It just works.

    • Workspace Persistence: Thanks to Docker-based persistence, your work is automatically saved and ready whenever you return—no more lost sessions.

    • Unified Workflow: A consistent experience that lets you switch between process design and UI creation without context switching.

Ready to try it out?

The 2025.2 release is available now! We can’t wait to see what you build with these new secure, local, and developer-friendly features.
