Email SMTP Authentication error

Hello,

I've created a process in Bonita BPM Studio.  In my process, I have a human task where I've added the email connector and provided a username and password.  The SMTP host and port are correct. During the process, a form is submitted and an email is supposed to be sent to an approver. However, this email is never sent.  I've checked the logs and see AuthenticationFailedException error.  I've checked multiple times to make sure the credentials are correct.  What could be the issue?

The logs are not very helpful in determining the reason I'm getting this error, AuthenticationFailedException.  Could someone assist in determining what could cause this issue other than password being incorrect?

Why are you passing Username and password in each email.
Usually the sender id is whitelisted on the exchange server. Any email coming from the sender email is not blocked and passed through.

My SMTP server allows for open relay.  That functionality is going away.  Therefore, I have to provide a username and password. I would attach a screenshot of the configuration but not sure how.

sure , you can.
But i also need to do research as I am not familiar with SMTP authentication.
I would go through documentation.

this says that you need to check the box that says SSL = true

I don't see in this document where it states I need to check the box that says SSL = true.  I see under the connection Information section, it displays to check the box if SSL security authorization is required.  I will test if checking the box fixes the issue.

My mistake , I read Authorization wrong as Authentication . My bad  , sorry

I found this link below and it states, AuthenticationFailedException means authentication has failed...so either the password is wrong or you are behind a firewall (not recommended as it doesn't seem to work).

My instance of Bonita is behind a firewall.  Are there firewall rules that I can define?  I cannot turn off the firewall.

You might need to check with Bonita Customer service Team.
