Is there a way to 'hide' the CASES pane from the users that are not in the admin profile? I'm using community edition v. 6.1.1.

In the community edition you don't have the user interface to create custom profiles, so the only solution is to remove the cases entry from the profile entry table in the engine database. Make sure you only remove it for the user profile and not for the admin profile.
