Mobile App Development Platform

Hi!

I’d like to know if Bonitasoft has plans to extend its BPM solution as a Mobile App Development Platform in future versions.

I think you need to be more specific in your needs.

Bonitasoft does support Mobile development but does it do what you want? That’s a different question.

If you do a search in documentation ( http://documentation.bonitasoft.com/search/site/mobile ) there are several references to developing for mobile use:

Hi Sean,

Thank you for your answer. I am describing business needs beyond mobile portal. To be more specific I am asking about the availability of the following features in a future version or as a new release;

  1. Bonita as a mobile application platform to build and deploy natively mobile business apps.
  2. Bonita’s developer tools that make mobile app development and deployment easy for mobile devices.
  3. Bonita’s UI Designer to work across the web and mobile devices.
  4. Easy adoption through a single interface and multi-channel deployment across the web and mobile devices (build once, deploy everywhere.)
  5. Bonita’s other management and collaboration tools for mobile.

In that case this question should definitely go into the Ideas Forum here: http://community.bonitasoft.com/ideas

This is way beyond what is possible today from what I understand.

However here are some of my thoughts on your points:

  1. Bonita as a mobile application platform to build and deploy natively mobile business apps.

Would still need a home server, Cloud based if necessary, to function. Otherwise there is no collaboration and hence no need for the application. Which is already available here: http://www.amigolog.com/NewSite/index.php/en/bonita-bpm

  1. Bonita’s developer tools that make mobile app development and deployment easy for mobile devices.

This might be possible as there is an eclipse mobile (android) package which could be incorporated: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-android-developers/neonm6

  1. Bonita’s UI Designer to work across the web and mobile devices.

I doubt this would happen. nearly all UI development is done on PC grade hardware, with the relevant libraries etc. available in the background…This is how programs for Apple, Android etc. tend to be developed.

  1. Easy adoption through a single interface and multi-channel deployment across the web and mobile devices (build once, deploy everywhere.)

This is the way it works today, with the up-and-coming cloud version will do this anyway (I’m sure).

  1. Bonita’s other management and collaboration tools for mobile.

Same as above - would be on the central core, either cloud or local infrastructure).
