I'm trying to connect BOS 6.0.3 with MySQL using Tomcat bundle. I followed tutorial on http://documentation.bonitasoft.com/tomcat-bundle but it doesn't create any table or record in "bonita" database.
I'd really appreciate your help. I've searched over internet about it but the information is for earlier versions of BonitaSoft, where process is different from BOS 6.0.3
Actually, the whole documentation of Bonita is kinda... shallow. I also followed that path of the "tomcat bundle" and it doesn't seem to work. Probably because something is missing or because who made the tutorial assumes that somethings are implicit like "You know how to install the tomcat and configure that" or "you know that you need this OS, and This java version, and those variables set and so on..."
I've been trying about 3 weeks to work with Bonita but this whole groovy dependency and lack of documentation is getting steeper.
I've found this old guide: http://community.bonitasoft.com/groups/installation-5x/esp-enginstall-guideguia-de-instalacion-tomcat-60-bonita-50#comment-34326
Again, it brings me some news about how to manage the Tomcat and Bonita together like I must have the tomcat installed in advance, there are some enviroment variables to set and even a configuration to do specific in the tomcat manager... the "bundle tutorial" do not mention that.
I think that someone with more experience could bring a tutorial that's really a "zero start", I mean, it would be helpfull for those who never worked with Tomcat, Java, Bonita, etc...
in my case, I'm starting the BPMN at the company I work for, and I liked Bonita, but it's really hard to get through all this "details" without a guide or tutorial. If I couldn't show something to the staff in the freeware version, they will never allow me to buy a paid version.
Sorry for the mix of subjects but I think that someone eles might have the same problem. :)
Did you start the bundle once before changing DB vendor to MySQL?
If this is the case I would suggest to follow the installation process without starting the bundle until all the configuration is set to use MySQL.
Actually there is a configuration file in <bonita home>/client/platform/conf/ named platform-tenant-config.properties that stores the fact that the database has already been created and should not be created again.
A bug has already been reported on this subject and will be adressed in a future version of Bonita BPM.
I want to let you know that we have made some improvement in the documentation. A full step by step Bonita + Tomcat bundle configuration is now documented. You will find on the page a link that explain database configuration in details.
If you still have errors, we will need logs files in order to help you. Logs files are located in Tomcat logs folder. You can find more information about logs also on a new documentation page.
