opening up examples while working on a project with both working at end? (community version)

Hello,

Newer user to Bonitasoft, using community version. While I am working on a project, occasionally I’ll need to open up an example. Since you cannot have 2 instances of bonitasoft running (as far as I can tell), I have to allow an override, which makes my project not work anymore and if I do not select override then the example doesnt work.

Is there a way around this? The only way I can currently do this is start over (or export my example and save). Reopen bonitasoft, import the example and attempt to recreate everything that I did before but adding to the BDM. Which is very time consuming. I know when I have more complex projects in the future I’ll need to refer to several examples.

How can I have both projects (examples and current project) working properly?

I think two machines - physical or virtual - other methods seem problematical.

Hmm. So a virtual machine should work. I’ll give that one a try. Thanks for that idea!

The other method of doing this is to

Run Studio as is (via Tomcat)
Run the UAT (examples version) from the JBoss download.

However this will not allow you to run two Studio’s which, is mitigated by being able to run the examples from Studio. However the BDM issue is still a problem for now. So no-use.

I understand that the BDM issue is being addressed and a better method of doing them may be in the next release (7.3), though that has yet to be confirmed.
