Upgrade Bonitasoft Questions

Hello,

Currently, I have a very old version of Bonitasoft, 6.3.2 community edition. I'm interested in upgrading to the latest. When on the Bonitasoft website, download page, it states, that there's a .zip file containing a script to update a Bonita Runtime from 7.x to any later version. Is there a tool or .zip file to update the platform from 6.3.2?

Yes , there is a Bonita Migration tool. It only works on the Database.
You need to first setup a Database. Copy the Files from Old Database to New Database. Then run the Migration tool to update the required tables and columns.
Then create a app server. Install the new bonita in the app server. Point to the new database. it should work fine.

But I am not sure if you can jump from 6X to latest version. You need to perform several small jumps.

Hi @Dibyajit.Roy,

How can I access the Bonita Migration tool? When you say, perform several small jumps, does this mean, performing the steps you've mentioned for each iteration version?

Based on the information on this page: https://documentation.bonitasoft.com/bonita/latest/version-update/update..., I need the Bonita Migration Tool 1.x. However, on the Download page, I do not see this version. Is this version still available?

Migration tool is available for Paid customers.
If you have access to Customer portal , you can download the tool directly.

We went from version 7.3 to 7.11
We had to migrate to 7.9 first and then 7.9 to 7.11.

i dont think the migration tool supports 6X versions.

Currently, I'm not a paid customer. Would the customer portal be able to tell me if there's a migration tool that supports 6x versions? If there isn't, do you know of an alternative method for migrating from 6x to latest or 6x to a later version?

From the link below, under Community Edition, I do not see the option to download a tool for migrating from 6x versions.

https://www.bonitasoft.com/downloads

Also, on this page, when I click Download Previous versions, I'm navigated to here: https://www.bonitasoft.com/old-versions. On this page, there isn't any option for 6x versions.

I've checked the links you've provided. The only link that provides information about the migration tool is https://community.bonitasoft.com/questions-and-answers/download-link-mig....

On this page, it's mentioned that the tools are located on sourceforge. I've checked there and there's no tool for 6x versions.

Why do you need a tool for 6X version.
Migration tools common for all versions. You dont need separate tools for each versions.
you can use the latest tool.

Are you stating that I can use version 3.0 of the migration tool located at the bottom of the page below to migrate from 6.3.2 to the latest Bonitasoft version?

Sorry Michele. When I did the Migration ,i used the Paid Migration tool.
Also I had help from Bonitasoft. But it was very easy to configure. Just pointed to database and it worked.

I am not sure about Community. You might have to do several trial and error to see what errors are you getting.

How can I become a paid customer? The only option I see on the website is to fill out a form to contact Bonitasoft. However, I've completed the form and have not been contacted by them yet. How long does it normally take?
