This is a problem, not just for Bonitasoft, but for every software vendor out there. Simple. They have to pick a level that is fully compliant with requirements.
The software is as TESTED and VERIFIED to work by Bonitasoft, there is nothing at all to say that you can’t try these latest software versions yourself in a test environment, which is what we do, and then once satisfied use it as required.
We do this all the time, specifically because of IT Audit and Security requirements.
The only thing we know doesn’t work is Tomcat 8 and 9, and Java 9.
Otherwise Ubuntu, MySQL and PostgreSQL all work at the latest levels as you’ve described, as we’ve found. You have to test it yourself, but from our findings they work perfectly well, and with no as-yet-identified problems.
Also this question works for HARDWARE requirements too ! Can I use a ubuntu 16.04 or is the 14.04 version NECESSARY for Bonita BPM to works ?
Really since when could I get a hardware called Ubuntu? It’s an operating system and therefore software.
This question would have been been better if you’d have asked about Intel vs AMD hardware chips being suitable…
Sorry just being a bit pedantic It’s one of those days
I admit the testing of the background systems is slow, and I wish Bonitasoft would move things along a bit quicker, but it’s what it is, we get round this by doing it ourselves,
PS: While you may not like the answer, it gives a possible workaround, please mark as resolved.
