Is there a way to edit the Business Data Model outside of the BPM Studio an then import it back into Studio?

Yes, though it is NOT recommended...

Remember - it is NOT recommended!

Search for BDM.zip and review it's structure, extract and edit.

Any mistakes and it will not work.

I find it best to do the Fields part of the businessobject only and build the queries and contraints inside studio.

Note everything including the lines and should be included for a new bO.

Then rezip to exactly the same structure as before.

Tip 1: it is not recommended
Tip 2: make sure you take a backup first
Tip 3: make sure it is the same structure after as before
Tip 4: do this when Studio is CLOSED
Tip 5: after doing all the above, do Development- BDM check everything and then click FINISH to "compile" the BDM classes and standard queries which are generated.

Did I say - Remember - it is NOT recommended!

:)

Hi Sean,

This was really helpful. I didnt realize that Studio saves the BDM to the zip file when its closed.

Thanks,

Dave
