Direct migration from 5.7.1 to 5.8

Can we use the same procedure to migrate directly from 5.7.1 to 5.8, or shall we migrate in two steps? (first 5.7.1 --> 5.7.3, then 5.7.3 to 5.8)

In that case, what is the procedure to migrate from 5.7.1 to 5.7.3?

you can migrate directly from 5.7.1 to 5.8.
