What’s new?

Also, please take note:

Improved security, performance and language…with a new Java™

Because pretty rhymes with update, we’re updating to the next long-term support (LTS) Java version. The trend indicates that Java 17’s worldwide adoption has been growing more and more since last year, including among our Bonita users. So it’s time for an update as well on our side! In Bonita 2024.1, we have stopped using Java 11 and moved to Java 17 instead, which brings:

  • Security updates: Stay ahead of potential threats with the latest security patches and updates, safeguarding your workflows and data.
  • Performance improvements: Experience a boost in performance, ensuring your operations run efficiently.
  • Language enhancements: Java 17 introduces new language features and enhancements, such as Sealed Classes.

To support this change, Bonita Docker images are now based on the official Eclipse Temurin image and our Bonita Studio binaries now embed a JustJ (a fully-functional Java runtime).

“Robustify” your search experience on all APIs and pages

Bonita’s new search engine algorithm supports “like-based” search which results in a better understanding of your queries on all APIs and the Bonita pages included by default on Bonita User Application, Bonita Administrator and Super Administrator Applications. You will be able to effortlessly find all matching records for a given search string anywhere in a phrase or a word. The best: it doesn’t require any configuration changes!

Boost platform performance thanks to the L2 Cache (Enterprise Edition only)

With Bonita 2024.1, we are introducing a second-level cache system powered by Hazelcast. This means significant reductions in database access and a boost in overall platform performance when running Bonita within a clustered environment. According to performance tests, this new cache system has improved read access, making your processes run smoother and faster.
